From the perspective of a Christian living in America, persecution can seem like a distant issue that happened a long time ago in a distant country. Jesus doesn’t want us to be surprised when persecution shows up and He even tells us how we should respond to it.
We live in a world of conflict (global, national, local and personal)… God has called all Christians to be His ambassadors of peace to those who are at war with Him.
Let us never confuse mercy with anything that we deserve or can earn… and may we show it to others as we have received it from God.
